Romelu Lukaku Does not Fear Zlatan Ibrahimovic Competition

Manchester United’s forward Romelu Lukaku has claimed that he is not worried at the prospect of Zlatan Ibrahimovic providing him a competition in the first team.

The Swede appeared to have left the club on a permanent basis, but he has rejoined the United on a one-year contract.Ibrahimovic is not looking likely to play until January. If he does return to the squad, he will be not satisfied with a place on the bench, as the 36-year-old has always been one of the top dogs in his team. Lukaku has made an excellent start to his life at United after scoring three goals in as many games, but there are concerns about the presence of Ibrahimovic providing him with a spot of bother.

Yet, the Belgian international has dismissed those claims by saying that he would welcome the presence of additional competition in the team. United are looking to win the Premier League title for the first time since 2013 when Alex Ferguson was able to lead the club to success. read more »

Manchester United is already receiving bad news for the 2017-18 season

In spite of what has been an unremarkable season for Jose Mourinho in his debut campaign in charge of Manchester United, the Portuguese coach is still expected to remain in charge of the Premier League club for at least another season.

However, even though the 2017-18 season has not even started as it’s scheduled to start on August 12 of 2017, it isn’t looking very good for Jose Mourinho and Manchester United and this is due to various things that have emerged recently.

One of the reasons of why the upcoming season might not kick-off in a positive way is due to the fact that Luke Shaw might miss the start of the next campaign. Luke Shaw is a 21 year rising star who is trying to find his place on the 1st team of Jose Mourinho.

Luke Shaw underwent surgery on his injury foot and it remains uncertain as to how long it’s going to take him to get fully recovered but he’s not expected to come back anytime soon.

The English defender has spent the majority of the season on the sidelines but he has been getting playing time on certain matches and has made 11 Premier League appearances which is fairly surprising for a youngster who is trying to make his presence felt in the club that has won the most Premier League titles ever.

Another of the reasons of why the 2017-18 might not initiate in full force for Manchester United is because KylianMbappe does not want to join them the team of Jose Mourinho. read more »

UNITED TO FACE ROSTOV IN EUROPA LAST 16

Manchester United have been drawn to face FC Rostov in the last 16 of the Europa League competition.

The English side are the only ones in the second-rate tournament in Europe. However, bookmakers consider them one of the favourites to lift the title.

Jose Mourinho’s men thrashed French side Saint Etienne 0-1 in the return leg. Summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan grabbed the only goal of the game even though he could not finish the game as he limped off. Paul Pogba – who lined up against his brother – was awarded the Man of the Match. Another summer signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic had given Man United the advantage as he scored thrice in the first leg at Old Trafford.

The victory ensured United’s form since November continued strong. After their sloppy side, the team seems to have found the right balance.

Etienne wanted to win the game even if they did not qualify the coach said. read more »

Fergie: Offloading Hurt

Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken about the awkwardness of the situation when he had to convey to some of the veterans of his Premiership Champion side in 1994 that he was going to offload them.

The Scot says that his emotional connect with those veterans was very strong, but, at the end of the day, he had to tell himself that he was in a job and wasn’t somebody’s guardian and rather than thinking about the future of those particular players, he should think about the future of the team because it’s the team owners who are paying him his salary and they are paying him that only to take care of the team. read more »

Jose Mourinho wants grappling rules to be called out consistently

The head coach of Manchester United Jose Mourinho, has always been someone who is not afraid on letting his voice be heard and the Portuguese coach has recently talked about implementing new rules in the Premier League and according to him, one of the problems that comes along with enforcing new guidelines is consistency as referees need to be consistent when following these fresh set of regulations.

My problem with new rules is always the consistency or inconsistency in the decisions.
“If the penalty that favored Man City is always a penalty for every team, that’s fine. The only problem is if it’s a penalty for Man City and is not a penalty for Watford. If the referees can find that consistency, we will have dozens and dozens of penalties, for sure, but in a consistent way.”

Manchester United’s boss continued on saying that football is indeed a contact sport and a certain level of aggressiveness and moves should be done in order to stop the opposing players from performing as they would like to but grappling is just something completely different that deserves to be punished accordingly.

“Every time Fellaini wants to jump, he can’t jump, that is another story, body, shoulders. I think football has to be a contact sport but the grab, the pull of the shirt, not looking at the ball and just at the player to grab them this is a penalty, but it has to be a penalty every time, with every club, with every player.” Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho added on.

A new set of rules are believed to be taking place that will completely ban players from grappling others and Jose Mourinho is hoping that this is done in an efficient manner but more importantly, in a consistent way that doesn’t only favor 1 club in particular.

It might have been instrumental in delaying the match as well as lowering the morale of the team, which led to their defeat as well. Many teams are jealous of the fame and glamor that Manchester United is associated with. It should come as little wonder that the team comes under attack from fans of opposing teams.

However, the team members insist that such violence is often natural and it does not deter the focus of the members on the game. Hence, if there was a defeat on the field, it could be translated into the fans having succeeded in demoralizing the opposing team.
